topless!

Thank you everyone for the congratulations and yes, i’m a proud girlfriend, too, coz Mike’s exhibit‘s opening was a success last Monday! :) To those who have access to the Philippine Center in New York (5th Avenue), please pass by his photography exhibit – Philippine Vistas. His photos will be up until April 9 :)

Woah, it’s April already? 2010′s going by SO fast, no? It’s summertime here in the Philippines and it’s been pretty hot the past couple of days. I’m not a fan of this crazy, humid weather :\ Flipflops are in, yet again, but what I don’t understand is the idea of topless sandals:

Yes, they seem comfortable… a bit too comfortable for my taste. If I had those on my feet, it feels like it’ll come off on its own eventually. I’m obviously still used to the normal sandals, thankyouverymuch.

Questions!
Do you have topless sandals?
Have you seen something like this before?
Are you willing to give it a try?

topless sandals?! wow.. how do they stay on your feet? that’s weird.. I’ve never even heard of this before lol. I don’t think I would wear them, it would be too weird.. plus, it looks weird also. The designs are nice though lol

Kayt on April 1, 2010

I’ve seen those before and I dont really like it. It doesn’t even look good when worn. I think making topless flipflops is a very sick idea. Lol.

Isha on April 1, 2010

WAHAT THE?? there are such things? How is one supposed to wear them securely? XD hahaha am not a fan of flip flops XD normal slippers for me :D

Congrats to Mike!! awww!! and yes I AGREE IT’S SO FRIGGING HOT T_T

tiff k on April 2, 2010

I’ve seen a topless sandals before. i wanna give it a try.. but im sure, i would still prefer the normal sandals. :)

ran on April 2, 2010

I wish it was humid here, it’s still around 5 degrees here! It’s freeeeezing. And I really don’t understand the flip-flops…how do they stay on the feet?! They’re really weird! I never wear flip-flops because I find them so uncomfortable. Especially the ones that have the bit that goes between the big toe…ouchhh

Grace on April 2, 2010

I always love to buy flip flops with cute designs, but it’s hard seeing the point since your feet cover them up anyways.

Those are pretty much the most amazing shoes I’ve ever seen! I must have a pair! (if nothing else than to baffle my friends!)

Stepherz on April 2, 2010

Do you have topless sandals? Nope
Have you seen something like this before? Yea I’ve seen them
Are you willing to give it a try? Ehhh, maybe? Probably not lol seems a bit goofy to me

Shellie on April 2, 2010

Just heard the news about your boyfriend, but congrats! I would visit but sadly, I live in Seattle. =.=”

I didn’t know such things even existed. o_O Topless sandals? What the heck is the point? It seems like it sticks to your feet with sweat. XD That’s not a very nice thought.

Kelsey on April 2, 2010

Glad that the exhibit was a success :) Unfortunately I can’t pop by as I live in Australia LOL.

But wow! They really do have an invention for everything LOL. How does the shoe ‘stick’ to the feet :/ it looks so weird! haha. I’m just used to having some form of ‘security’ on top of my foot I guess xD

Tiffany on April 2, 2010

I have to say 2010 really is going by quickly, maybe a bit too quickly.

Topless flip flops is an interesting idea… I don’t really understand how they would work but they do seem comfortable.. I doubt I’d try them though… looks somewhat weird. haha

Sitting down on a rainy day and reading is nice too.I think that just sitting down to relax on those days feel the best.

smile on April 2, 2010

I was going to buy a pair of those, but the idea suddenly became weird for me. Normal flip flops are still the best!!!

Kaye on April 2, 2010

e ano to magnetized? haha!! cool!

Do you have topless sandals? none. I think this is expensive! lol
Have you seen something like this before? nope. sa tv yes!
Are you willing to give it a try? sure! I would love too!

p.s. I love you posts Gel! lahat cute!

JHOANA on April 2, 2010

Topless sandals seems crazy. I saw many stores selling them, but no one is buying. I wonder if the wearer can wiggle his or her toes. hmm..

Karen on April 2, 2010

I’ve heard of those too. I wouldn’t buy those. I think it’ll have a weird feel in it.. ^_^

Hikari on April 2, 2010

I’ve heard of them last year. I just don’t know if they’re still the trend up to now. When I saw a pair at an online store, I actually went “What is wrong with that sandals? How the fuck will I wear that?” But I’m game for trying one! I just don’t know if my mother will allow me to buy one. Because she’ll just think it’s a waste of money.

I never thought I already answered your questions Ate Gel without reading them first.

April on April 2, 2010

I’m always scared that those things would fall off easily. O_o

Do you have topless sandals? No.
Have you seen something like this before? Yeah, a year ago, I think.
Are you willing to give it a try? Yup, if I don’t have to buy it or if it’s cheap so I won’t think it’s such a waste of money if I didn’t like it.

Aww, it’s good that you verified your Paypal already. I’m still in the process of doing so. :O

Senyth on April 2, 2010

hello there!. Topless sandals?haha, interesting.

Q:
1.No i dont have those!
2.Nope, this is my first time to see this!
3.Yes, very much willing. Cause its my first time to see this i am so curios to know!

stevevhan on April 2, 2010

At fist, different “thing” popped in my mind after reading your title. HAHA. Silly me.

Anyway. I had really this expression of :O && O.O after reading the blog post. Topless sandals? Haha. If you’re really just saying it with your friends without any proof at all, you may sound really crazy! Haha. I haven’t seen any topless sandals yet, so this amazed me a little. Haha. :)

Jogz on April 2, 2010

It’s flip flop weather here too! I love wearing flip flops, but I don’t think I’d ever want strapless ones. I’d probably be constantly paranoid that they’d come off. I know costumers who use them for a barefoot look though.

1. Nopes.
2. Yeps! Cosplayers like using them for characters who are normally barefoot.
3. Not really XD;;

Cat on April 2, 2010

Never heard of it. I think that’s only good to use when you just got a pedicure done. I want to have those for visitors maybe..

Biang on April 2, 2010

Do you have topless sandals?
-No, I don’t, but I wanna have one.
Have you seen something like this before?
-Not yet. It’s so unique. I can’t imagine myself wearing this, haha!
Are you willing to give it a try?
-Why not? It looks so comfortable since it’s topless, hehe!

La Reyn on April 2, 2010

Wow I’ve never saw anything such as topless sandals. I think that’s sort of stupid to be honest. How do they stay on?!

RE: Thank you :) I’m very excited for my laptop. Even though I share my boyfriend’s computer now I can go out pretty much anywhere with a laptop and go on the computer even when he’s using his. Woot.

Michaela on April 3, 2010

Do you have topless sandals?
Nope
Have you seen something like this before?
Yea
Are you willing to give it a try?
Nope. Doesn’t seem comfortable.

Grysh on April 3, 2010

how does that work? glue it to your feet? hahahaha. that seems funny, but interesting nevertheless. :D

i missed you and your posts Gel! :D

Mikyu on April 3, 2010

Wow, Ive never seen something like that before, is it new style? How can it sticks on your toe? Nice designs!

dianne on April 3, 2010

These flip flops are insane! I wonder how people keep them on because it’s stuck on the bottom of your feet. :\ Looks kind of weird and I wouldn’t purchase them because they don’t seem sturdy enough or comfortable enough to wear. :S We don’t have them here, if we do, I haven’t seen them.

Ivy on April 3, 2010

Topless sandals?? How do they work?? Do they have magnets to stick on the bottom of your feet or do they simply glue them to the feet? LOL. Strange invention but fascinating at the same time. I don’t know if I’ll ever want to try it out though, cause I’ll be constantly worrying in case the slippers would come off anytime. Hahaha!

Kitty on April 3, 2010

LOL hahaha topless sandals? How DO they work? It doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe they have adhesive or something that allows to stick to your feet, but how is that going to protect your feet at all? It’ll be just like stepping on boards. I don’t get it.

It’s kind of funny though, how you can just take off the strap of the sandal and come up with something like this just by taking that part off. I dunno but my boyfriend HATES flip flops because they hurt his toes.

If I had these topless things… I would worry about them falling off all the time. ;_;

Good to hear Mike’s exhibit was a success!

Do you have topless sandals?
No!
Have you seen something like this before?
Never, this is the first time haha.
Are you willing to give it a try?
I’ll try it for free… or if someone pays me. LOL. Doesn’t really interest me personally but I am curious.

Georgina on April 3, 2010

wow. meron pa lang ganitong sandals? ngayon ko lang nakita ito. haha. i’m sooo yesterday!

Honney on April 3, 2010

another interesting post. haha! those sandals seems weird but why not give it a try! but still i would rather wear the normal sandals/slippers..umm, how do they wear that topless sandals? those it stick? OuO
Do you have topless sandals? no..
Have you seen something like this before? not YET.
Are you willing to give it a try? why not? :) ) just try lang naman.

bianca on April 3, 2010

Kala on April 3, 2010

Bilis lang ng panahon noh? Oh well… just like you i would still stick to my good old sandals. hehe

Do you have topless sandals?
-no. but i want to have one… :)

Are you willing to give it a try?
-of course ate. it looks cool especially this summer. hehe

Tine on April 3, 2010

Whoa!! You always post the coolest things. I’ve never heard of those in my life! Do they stick to your feet? I’d be afraid they would fall off, or I would trip or something, haha.

Christine on April 3, 2010

Thanks! :D
I had so much fun at the party :)

Whoa, how exactly do those topless sandals fit on the feet? Looks weird xD

Helene on April 3, 2010

Lol, I’ve heard of those years ago. But I don’t really like them. Haha. It looks like they could fall off anytime.

Claudine on April 3, 2010

So, they stick to your feet? Ew. That seems interesting, creative, but not cool. But, then again, I hate wearing flip flops to begin with, I like shoes with a little support.

Daniella on April 4, 2010

whoahh! how do u wear that sandal? that looks a bit funny but cute especially if you have cute feet too.

scart on April 4, 2010

I’m really curious about that topless sandals, how do you wear it? I’ve seen them in a magazine before.. But yeah, it looks comfortable.

Tricia on April 4, 2010

Belated congratulations sis! =))
You sure are lucky to have such a cool boyf with you. :)

Do you have topless sandals?
– Nah, and I don’t plan to have one! I’m not wont to wearing those kinds of sandals na topless. Syempre we prefer those comfy regular flipflops diba? :)

Have you seen something like this before?
– Yup, many times. My uncle was planning to distribute sandals like these pa nga eh, kaso hindi natuloy. He was the one who backed out. :P

Are you willing to give it a try?
– Sure, if it’s for a trial then I’ll go for it. Besides, there’s nothing to lose naman diba? Except for the comfortable feel. :) )

Toni on April 4, 2010

congratulations to you & your guy! :)

Do you have topless sandals?

Have you seen something like this before?
it looks like a surfboard but for the feet xD

Are you willing to give it a try?
well, yeah but I wouldn’t dare wear it outside the house D:

Je on April 4, 2010

I think I’ve those topless slippers before.. oh yeah, at Tumblr yata!! LOL I would never wore though or even consider trying them.. I read na hindi natatanggal yung adhesive so kahit na labahan/hugasan mo siya magsstick pa rin siya. People are just getting lazy as the years go by, parang tinatamad na sila magspend like ng 0.5 seconds to insert their foot sa strap ng flip flops hahaha!

I prefer the normal flipflops to than that any day of the week/year.

Do you have topless sandals?
NO
Have you seen something like this before?
Yep, online, but not IRL.
Are you willing to give it a try?
No way, hahahaha. I love me some normal slipper straps!

Anna on April 5, 2010

Hahahaha! I’ve seen those topless flipflops before! If I remember it correctly, someone from the office showed it to me…. I don’t know….. I don’t like it…… I don’t think they’re comfortable to wear?

Do you have topless sandals?
– I don’t and I’m not planning to have a pair. :) )

kressa on April 5, 2010

Eeeekkkk topless flip-flops? How do you wear those? o_0 I think I still like the good old regular flip-flops, thank you very much HAHAHAHA. Maybe when I wear one of these, I’ll always be conscious and have a feeling that I might leave it somewhere while walking =))

Holly on April 10, 2010

I haven’t seen one of those before! How do they even stay on your feet? I mean, even normal sandals come off. :-P I’d prefer the normal ones, though.

Ariel on April 11, 2010

Haha. I got what I wanted: they don’t make me do a lot of stuffs. But the sad part is they almost never let me do anything, which made me really bored. -.- Having to stay there for like 8 hours doing nothing but sit and surf the net is such a bore. Huhu!

Senyth on April 11, 2010

Dang, I never heard of topless shoes! I don’t understand how your feet stick to the shoe…? Maybe my imagination isn’t working enough, but I don’t get that. XD No one here is working those… yet? Gahh, I wish it were summer here! I’d love no school, vacationing, shopping, the clothes of summer, going to the pool, hanging with friends, etc. :)

Hmm, but suicide is the person’s own choice so we can’t really do anything. & It’s not like that person would tell EVERYONE they’re committing suicide, which actually would be a good idea. :]

CONGRATULATIONS MIKE :)
Uh, yeah. I kinda live in the UK so getting there would be a bit of a problem in itself :P I’m sure it’s fantastic though :)

Wow those shoes look.. interesting. They look so comfortable, but I don’t understand how they stay on for so long.. surely they’d lose their stick eventually? and what about if you stub your toe or something? D:
If they sold them locally (and cheap) I would give them a go, but I’m too lazy to order them online :P

Do you have topless sandals?
Nope.
Have you seen something like this before?
Never. They are just so.. unusual.
Are you willing to give it a try?
Meh, if they are cheap and sold somewhere nearby.. Why not?

Becca on April 11, 2010

I’d be too worried they’d come off to use them, plus here you’d be in so much danger of toe stepage it wouldn’t be worth it.

Alice on April 12, 2010

First time I’ve seen something like that. How do these sandals stay on your feet? Are they glued or something? Just like you, I’d prefer to wear normal sandals. =D

Nagashiko on April 12, 2010

How on earth would those stay on your feet?!? I can’t help but prefer normal thongs. x.x Those look weird.

Milktan on April 12, 2010

Oh wow, I have never heard of topless sandals before now. They seem quite… pointless to me, lol. I doubt I would ever try them as they don’t seem comfortable. I’m just wondering why someone thought of this & even how the stay on your feet! Do they stick or something?? lol Fill me in. :)

Latrina on April 13, 2010

:) I go Topless (sandals that is…) every chance I get! I love my Topless Sandals, they stick to my feet, I never have a problem with them not sticking and wear them over and over again! When people see me walking thru stores they always do a double take. Topless Sandals are so much fun… AND I never have to bother with matching them to anything I wear – honestly whoever invented these was ingenious! Oh and I buy mine on-line at everythingbeadful.com (I have a few pairs) Maybe they’ll send me a free pair for the plug!

Christine on April 13, 2010

Do you have topless sandals?
Nope, I don’t plan on getting them either.
Have you seen something like this before?
Never.
Are you willing to give it a try?
I would but not in public.

Julia on April 14, 2010

I’ve seen that long time ago in the internet and till now, I’m having the same question, how can that stay on a foot? :| They say it sticks perfectly and it won’t be removed until you force it to. :\

It’s a bit expensive but I’m willing to give it a try but not in public. It doesn’t look presentable. Haha ;> no offense to those who use.
